Alton U11A vs Old Basing

On a bright Sunday morning at Jubilee the Alton U11A team got there season off to a winning start.
Old Basing won the toss and decided to bat, they got to 25-0 before a good piece of thinking in the field from Freddie saw the first wicket fall to a run out as he fizzed the ball into Jamie who demolished the stumps. Two more run outs followed with direct hits before Freddie took his first wicket of the season with a straight fast yorker. It fell to Matt to bowl the final over where he took 2 wickets with consecutive balls which saw Old Basing finish their innings on 74-6.
It was an all round excellent fielding performance with Jamie leading the way behind the stumps, and some good decision making and commitment in the field.

Altons reply started well with the openers Ethan and Jamie scoring steadily and retiring not out with the score on 31-0. We continued to bat well, with the calling and running between the wickets a particular highlight, until Old Basing hit back with a couple of quick wickets that fell to stunning catches. We batted on for all 20 overs eventually finishing on 104-3 to claim a 7 wicket win.

Well done to Ethan who top scored with 20 and Matt who finished with 2-7.
