Herriard posted 249 for seven after choosing to bat, built around an excellent 112 from Shashank Agrawal and 52 from James Down. Andrew Pearce was the pick of the Alton bowlers with 3 for 39, while Toby Taylor and Joshua Jones claimed a wicket apiece. Two sharp run outs also helped keep the visitors in check.
Chasing 250, Alton recovered from an early wobble thanks to useful contributions from Andrew Pearce (41) and Rory Butler (32) before Lucas Pearce led the fightback with a superb 73 from just 58 balls, striking eight fours and a six to keep the hosts firmly in contention.
However, regular wickets at key moments stalled the chase and, despite an unbeaten 21 from Joshua Jones, Alton were dismissed for 230 with nine balls remaining.
Rakesh Manikettykunnu starred with the ball for Herriard, taking 3 for 18, while Shashank Agrawal claimed two wickets to cap an impressive all-round performance as the visitors secured victory by 19 runs.
