It was a great toss for the Brewers to win and invite the home side to bat first on a green deck at Wood Street. The bowing plan was working with runs kept below 4/over with Freddie Wilson, Jon Porter, Abi Green, Alex Housley and Nigel Craig all bowling good lines. After Berry was caught on the boundary by Abi Green off Housley, the home side built their innings and Ian Bow and Tim Wood steadily accelerated. James Porter bowled a nice spell before Green Snr eventually removed Wood off a wide delivery (Stumped by Wills) - the hope at this point was that the runs had been stemmed. Rory Leach, the Wood Street skipper had other plans though and put the returning Jon Porter to the sword hitting some huge shots and losing 5 balls in the process! It took the leg spin of Rohan Wills to eventually remove him for 33 and bring some order to proceedings. The damage had been done though and Wood Street declared on 231. Green Snr was removed early in the unlikely chase, but the Brewers always kept the target in mind. After Wills snr was dismissed lbw, Rohan Wills (54) and Rob Crook (55) started building the response building a partnership together 53 before Wills edged to slip. Green Jnr then took on the hitting reigns striking a quick fire 34 and whilst she was there at the crease with Zim Crook Alton had a sniff of the target. One shot too many saw the end of Green and with it the Brewers chances of an outright win. Porter Jnr was caught neatly at short extra and then debutant Munt caught out of his ground before Porter Snr steadied proceedings and tapped back the last few balls to secure a draw and 6 points for the Brewers.
