After electing to field, Alton restricted Elstead to 229-5 from their 40 overs despite an unbeaten 111 from Jacob Drayton. Leo Fourt was the standout bowler with 3-55, while Alex Stratford and Alex McCandlish claimed a wicket apiece.

Chasing a demanding target, Alton found themselves in trouble at 55-5 after Christopher Holland's excellent spell of 4-27. However, Stuart McCandlish held the innings together with an unbeaten 71, sharing an unbroken sixth-wicket partnership with Ben Heffernan, who finished 22 not out.

The pair comfortably saw Alton through to 135-5 from their 40 overs, securing a valuable draw and seven league points with a resilient display under pressure.
