After electing to bat, the home side piled up an imposing 376 for five from their 50 overs. R. Norman led the way with a superb 132 from just 82 balls, while A. Sansom added an unbeaten 107 as the pair dominated the Alton attack.

Tom Andrews and Harry Cavell claimed two wickets apiece, with Arul Appavoo also taking a wicket, but Ferndown's powerful batting line-up maintained the momentum throughout the innings.

Facing a daunting target, Alton lost wickets at regular intervals despite positive contributions from Ethan van der Linde (26), Matt Crane (22) and Wilf Bridger (22). The visitors were eventually dismissed for 127 in 24.5 overs.

Harry Hayes was the chief destroyer with an excellent five-wicket haul, while Dan Baines claimed three wickets to complete a convincing victory for the hosts.

The defeat leaves Alton looking to bounce back in their next Division Three fixture.
